Searching the Leflore County Court Docket
No single search box covers every Leflore County court. Begin with the court named on the summons, citation, notice, or order in hand. For Leflore County Circuit and County Court, the 4th Circuit MEC CourtInfo page confirms electronic status. The public side of Mississippi Electronic Courts, called PAMEC, handles remote access. Chancery settings run on the separate 7th Chancery Master Docket. Justice Court and many municipal matters start with the clerk. The county posts no public citation lookup.
Gather the full Leflore County case or citation number when you have it, plus the court name, a rough filing or hearing date, and the type of record you need. A calendar setting, a docket sheet, a filed document, a certified copy, and a transcript each serve different purposes. Registering for PAMEC takes an account. So an empty result might mean the case is old, restricted, filed in another Leflore County court, or simply outside the participating system.
- Read the Leflore County court name and issuing agency on the paper record before choosing a search route.
- For Leflore County Circuit or County Court, check CourtInfo and register through PAMEC if remote access fits the request.
- For Leflore County Chancery settings, use the public Master Docket calendar search by date, Chancellor, or keyword.
- For Leflore County Justice Court or municipal matters, call the court clerk with the citation number, court, date, and issuing agency.
- Ask the proper Leflore County clerk for a docket sheet, accessible document, or certified copy when an online result does not provide the needed record.
Note: When you ask Leflore County offices for anything, give the court name and case number. A name-only request across every desk moves slowly.
Leflore County Court Search Starts by Court
One Leflore County case can leave records in more than one place. A felony starts in Leflore County Justice Court may later move to Leflore County Circuit Court. A Greenwood municipal ticket, meanwhile, stays with the city court. For divorce, probate, guardianship, equity, commitment, and other Chancery matters, the Chancery Clerk holds the file. The Circuit Clerk does not. Federal civil, criminal, bankruptcy, and appellate filings sit outside Mississippi MEC entirely. If your notice does not name the right desk, the Leflore County court systems directory is a sensible first stop.
Sorting by court first also guards against a common docket search mistake. A PAMEC account will not return Leflore County municipal, Justice, some Chancery, or federal cases. A no-result screen is not proof that no Leflore County court record exists. Ask the Leflore County clerk instead. She can say whether the case sits in MEC, a legacy index, a lower court, or a restricted category.
Inside a Leflore County Court Docket
In MEC terms, a Leflore County docket sheet is a chronological register. It lists the court and case number first. From there it tracks filings, entries, settings, and everything filed after. One caution: a Leflore County docket entry may point to an order or pleading. But the entry is not the full document. The 7th Chancery Court Master Docket for Leflore County settings is different again. It works as a calendar rather than a full case-file viewer.
| Court and case number | Identifies the Leflore County venue, division, and file to confirm with the clerk. |
|---|---|
| Case type and filing date | Shows the Leflore County general matter and when the court file opened. |
| Parties and roles | Lists Leflore County public party and representation information where the court allows it. |
| Entries and documents | Tracks Leflore County motions, notices, orders, and document references; access can differ by item. |
| Setting and judge | Shows a Leflore County assigned judge or Chancellor and a future or prior court event. |
| Status or disposition | Needs the Leflore County full chronology or actual order for a reliable explanation. |
A calendar row is not a result. A CLOSED marking does not tell the whole story either. To know how a Leflore County case truly ended, read the later entries or request the controlling order from the clerk.
Leflore County MEC Docket Access Since 2025
The official CourtInfo page lists May 12, 2025 as the day MEC went live for Leflore County Circuit and County Court. Newer trial-court matters in participating courts now have an electronic route through the system. Older files, excluded cases, and local lower-court material may still need help from the clerk. PAMEC is the public side of that access for participating Leflore County courts. It is not a free anonymous county docket search. Registration costs a $10 annual fee for either an Attorney or Non-Attorney account. The fee is payable online by card or e-check. A mailed check is also accepted, though that route can delay Leflore County access.
| Access route | What it can help locate | Important limit |
|---|---|---|
| PAMEC remote access for Leflore County cases | Participating Leflore County Circuit and County Court information after registration | Account-gated and not a universal Leflore County search |
| Leflore County clerk office terminal | Electronic viewing of Leflore County records during regular business hours under the MEC framework | Ask the Leflore County office whether a public terminal is available |
| Leflore County clerk counter or mail | Leflore County legacy files, copies, certified records, and routing help | Fees and handling details must be confirmed with the Leflore County office |
In Leflore County, remote access and document access are two different things. A docket entry can appear in a public result. Meanwhile the document behind it may stay out of reach. It may be unavailable, require authentication, or come back redacted. Some filings must be requested straight from the Leflore County record keeper.
Courts That Keep Dockets in Leflore County
Leflore County court records split along jurisdictional lines. So the right docket depends on the court. For filing and docket work in Leflore County Circuit Court and County Court, the Leflore County Circuit Clerk is the main route. The Leflore County Chancery Clerk runs a separate docket and record system of its own. Justice Court keeps a clerk of its own and covers three geographic districts. Municipal clerks handle city-level cases in Leflore County. Federal courts sit outside MEC entirely and use PACER instead.
| Court | Docket covers | Where to search or ask |
|---|---|---|
| Leflore County Circuit Court | Felony and major civil matters filed in Leflore County, plus lower-court appeals | Leflore County Circuit Clerk and MEC/PAMEC where available |
| Leflore County and Youth Court | Leflore County jurisdiction and sensitive youth matters | Leflore County Circuit Clerk functions and County/Youth Court confirmation |
| Leflore County Chancery Court | Divorce, probate, guardianship, equity, commitments, and land-related Leflore County matters | Leflore County Chancery Clerk and the Master Docket for settings |
| Leflore County Justice Court | Misdemeanors, preliminary felonies, small civil matters, and listed Leflore County state traffic citations | Leflore County Justice Court Clerk |
| Leflore County Municipal Court | City ordinance cases, city traffic, and municipal misdemeanors in Leflore County | The relevant Leflore County city court or clerk |
Youth Court files in Leflore County sit under stronger confidentiality rules than most court records. The docket entries there are not open the way other case filings are. A clerk may handle routing for these matters along with other duties, but that does not loosen the confidentiality protections attached to Leflore County Youth Court records.
Leflore County Master Docket Is a Calendar
For Leflore County Chancery settings, one public schedule helps most. That is the 7th Chancery Master Docket. It spans a six-county district. A companion search page lets you filter by date range, Chancellor, or keyword. Each Leflore County row may list the date, county, Chancellor, time, an attendance indicator, the case or cause number, and a short hearing description. Those fields point you toward a likely setting. They do not replace the court file itself.
Read the Leflore County instructions with care. Settings can shift several times in one day. The calendar itself is not the method for setting a matter. Every case placed on the Leflore County Master Docket is time certain. Backup settings generally are not allowed, and setting a case stays a Court Administrator process. Note the date and time of any web check you make. Then confirm the setting with the clerk, the Court Administrator, or an official court notice.
- Master Docket
- The Leflore County term for the Chancery hearing calendar, rather than a complete document record.
- Time certain
- A scheduled Leflore County time for the matter, subject to court confirmation and later changes.
- Setting
- A Leflore County court event such as a hearing, status conference, motion, plea, or trial date.
- Ex parte
- A Leflore County proceeding described by the Chancery calendar; it does not reveal the complete case history.
How to Find Court Dates and Settings
Pick the route that fits your Leflore County court. Chancery settings appear on the public Master Docket. Confirm anything with the court itself. MEC/PAMEC shows case-specific Leflore County events for participating Circuit and County Court matters once you have access. Greenwood Municipal Court runs a recurring Monday session pattern for Leflore County cases. Justice Court posts no daily calendar. It routes traffic and other local matters through its clerk. A district-attorney docket PDF can add useful Leflore County context, but it carries a date and is a snapshot rather than a live court database. When a Leflore County setting shifts, it may be continued, reset, reassigned, or cancelled. A paper notice outranks a web row that conflicts with it. The clerk remains the safe source for the official word. For the full walkthrough of settings and every channel, see the Leflore County Court Dates reference.
Leflore County Traffic Docket Routing
Leflore County Justice Court handles the county's traffic citations. That includes tickets written by the Mississippi Highway Patrol, the Leflore County Sheriff's Department, the Public Service Commission, and Mississippi Valley State University Police. Wildlife citations and affidavits appear on the county page too. The court has Northern, Central, and Southern Districts. So keep the citation number, issuing agency, date, and court name handy when you call the clerk.
Greenwood is the big exception. Its Municipal Court takes Leflore County city traffic violations, municipal offenses, other misdemeanors, and DUI, per the city's published description. Payments for city tickets run through GreenwoodTickets and nCourt. That route is not a full public docket search, though. For a Leflore County city setting, disposition, or copy, contact the Greenwood court directly. Never assume a county MEC result covers it. A city-issued citation and one from a state or county agency can land in different Leflore County dockets.
Public Access to Court Dockets
Mississippi's Public Records Act, Title 25, Chapter 61, sets a general policy of access to public records and allows inspection and copying under reasonable written procedures. That law works for requests to a public body. Court records carry an added boundary. The judiciary's MEC privacy policy says access to court records is governed by applicable law, court policy, and court rules. So a broad records demand aimed at an unrelated office gets you little. A court clerk is the practical starting point for a case file.
Key rules and limits:
Mississippi Code § 25-61-1 states the public-record access policy and says automation should not erode it.
Mississippi Code § 25-61-5 addresses inspection and copying through reasonable written procedures.
Mississippi Code § 25-61-7 allows reasonable actual reproduction costs where the statute applies.
MEC’s court-record policy explains that judicial access also follows court-specific law, policy, and rules.
Some Leflore County records can be restricted. Sealed, expunged, juvenile, commitment, protected domestic-relations, and minor-related cases fall in that group, and a sealed or EXPUNGED marker is an access boundary, not a reason to seek the same information through another source.
Leflore County Court Docket Fees and Viewing
Fees split into what is set and what you must ask about. PAMEC remote registration costs $10 annually. Under the MEC procedure framework, viewing records electronically at a clerk's office is free during regular business hours. Call ahead to confirm a terminal is available. Mississippi public-record copies may carry reasonable actual costs where the statute applies. Leflore County copy, certification, transcript, scanning, and nCourt convenience fees are not posted publicly. Ask the specific clerk for those amounts before you send an order.
| Item | Published rule or amount |
|---|---|
| PAMEC remote registration | $10 annually for Attorney or Non-Attorney registration, with stated payment options |
| Clerk electronic viewing | Free viewing under the MEC framework; confirm terminal availability |
| Mississippi court copies | Ask the record keeper for its fee and procedure; no local schedule was located |
| Federal PACER material | $0.10 per page, subject to federal caps and waiver rules |
An in-person request also helps you sort out what you actually need. The item could be a docket sheet, plain copy, certified copy, transcript, or electronic document, and each product has different handling steps at the clerk's counter.
Docket Records at the Clerk's Office
Johnny Gary and Staff, the Leflore County Circuit Clerk office, is the main published route for Circuit and County Court docket functions. The office files and dockets cases. It also issues notices and process and handles civil, criminal, domestic-relations, juvenile, traffic-citation, and related court work. Call first. Ask whether your file sits in MEC, a legacy index, or another court. Chancery goes through a separately published Chancery Clerk route. Published sources name different Chancery officeholders, so telephone confirmation is prudent before mailing a request.
Leflore County Circuit Clerk
P.O. Box 1953
Greenwood, MS 38935-1953
(662) 453-1435
Leflore Justice Court Clerk
P.O. Box 8056
Greenwood, MS 38935
(662) 453-1605
Give the mail enough detail. Name the court, case number, date range, record requested, and whether you want a plain or certified copy. Telephone works for routing and confirmation, so ask whether a written request, appointment, fee estimate, or different mailing address is required.
Leflore County Court Docket No-Result Steps
A docket search can come up empty for reasons that have nothing to do with you. PAMEC may not include the court that handled the matter. The file might be a legacy record. The docket may not be entered yet. Access could be restricted. Hold off on hopping between systems until you know which court you are dealing with. A Greenwood municipal ticket is not automatically a Circuit or County Court case. A Justice Court citation can carry a district-specific file. And a Chancery calendar row may show a setting without the case history behind it. Your best move is a call to the clerk who holds that record type.
When you reach that clerk, be specific. Give the court named on the document. Give the case or citation number, the issuing agency, and the rough date. State the exact item you want. Ask whether the file is public, in MEC, held as legacy, or restricted. Then ask what the office can actually provide. It might be an electronic view, a plain copy, a certified copy, or just a routing answer. That focus keeps a court date search from ballooning into a vague request for every record tied to a name.
One more caution. If a result shows a SEALED, Sealed_Case, EXPUNGED, or Minor_Child marker, stop. Do not try to rebuild the hidden material yourself. Ask the court which access rule governs any public portion. A restriction can attach to the document even when a limited case entry stays visible.
Leflore County Federal Dockets Are Separate
Federal cases never show up in Mississippi MEC. For federal court lookup, Leflore County sits in the Northern District of Mississippi. PACER and CM/ECF are the official electronic systems there. A registered PACER user can pull case history and docket entries. Searches run by case name or number. Bankruptcy runs through a separate federal door, the Northern District Bankruptcy Court and its access tools. And no state clerk can turn a federal case search into a state docket request. The U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Mississippi is the source for this layer. Its public-facing court identity shows why system and case type must come before any name search.

Federal district records stay separate from Leflore County Circuit, Chancery, Justice, and municipal dockets, even when the subject matter feels related. The Northern District Bankruptcy Court is its own federal source for Leflore County bankruptcy matters.

So a bankruptcy search means the federal court and PACER path, not a request to a county clerk.
Leflore County Court Dockets by City
Four Leflore County city profiles come from Census 2020 incorporated-place data. The four are Greenwood, Itta Bena, Sidon, and Schlater. Their local court paths differ. Greenwood has a documented Municipal Court page and payment route. Itta Bena publishes a Municipal Court Clerk contact but offers no public docket portal. Sidon and Schlater go through official Blue Book directory details. Confirming current contact information is wise. Send a city citation to the city court or clerk first, unless the issuing agency points you to Justice Court.
Greenwood Docket Search
Census 2020 population 14,490. Municipal Court and a city-linked payment route are published.
Itta Bena Docket Search
Census 2020 population 1,679. The Municipal Court Clerk phone is the published local route.
Sidon Docket Search
Census 2020 population 311. No official city docket portal was located.
Schlater Docket Search
Census 2020 population 236. Start with the municipal clerk and verify current details.
Morgan City appears in a Secretary of State directory but not in the Census 2020 incorporated-place rows behind the required city ranking. Without further official verification, it is not presented as a fifth city page.
Map and Directions to the Leflore County Courthouse
Circuit and County Court records stay with the Circuit Clerk at the Leflore County Courthouse, 310 West Market Street in downtown Greenwood, the address the 4th Circuit's own MEC system lists for both courts. Chancery and Justice Court keep separate dockets nearby, so the courthouse sits in a Market Street government cluster rather than a single county building. The county's general courthouse page lists a slightly different address, 306 West Market Street, for the same area, so confirming the entrance by phone before driving over can save a walk between doors.

Circuit and County Court matters went live on Mississippi's MEC system on May 12, 2025, so a public terminal should be available at the clerk's counter during office hours. No parking, security-screening, or accessibility policy for the courthouse was published, so ask the clerk about entry procedures when confirming a visit.
